If you're not Uncomfortable, you're not growing.
“If you’re not
uncomfortable, you’re not growing.”
Have you ever heard that before? From every leader and
success story that I’ve had the privilege of meeting and talking to, more
common than not, I’ve heard that phrase.
It doesn’t matter what your field of endeavor. Maybe you own
your own business, work a 9-5 or even are taking some big relationship steps. No matter what the scenario, most likely, in
order to achieve the next level of success, you will need to get
UNCOMFORTABLE.
The “discomfort” will come in different forms:
You’re boss just asked you to make the next presentation at
work for your clients, and you have talk in front of a room of
professionals.
You’re trying to push to that next threshold at the gym and
you’re going to have to push yourself to your next PR (Personal Record).
You are on your way to CEO and you know that will have to
put LONG hours in the next few years to earn your spot.
What ever it is, you
are going to be TEMPORARILY uncomfortable.
To get to your next goal and conquer that “fear” you may
have, break your goal down in bite size pieces. Instead of just looking at the
goal ahead of you and becoming overwhelmed with all the WORK it’s going to take
to get there, do one thing each day that scares you.
Set your goal, map out you’re day/weekly tasks, and GET
UNCOMFORTABLE. In other words, start taking actions immediately that will help
you GROW and get closer to your ultimate goal.
